City of Princeton Two New Parking Lots Princeton, Illinois
The City of Princeton hired Willett, Hofmann & Associates to design two new parking lots in downtown Princeton, Illinois.
Both parking lots were designed with three inches of bituminous mixture and eight inches of aggregate base course Type A. One lot was designed with 20 spaces, one of which was handicapped, and the other lot had 19 spaces, three of which were handicapped. Both lots included driveways and sidewalks in addition to the parking spaces.
WHA worked with the City to develop the parking lot design layout and amenities and prepare a budget based on the approved design.
WHA developed a summary of quantities, prepared the bid and contract documents and disseminated bid documents to prospective bidders. WHA responded to bidder questions, attended the bid opening, and then reviewed bids and prepared a bid recommendation for the City.
The winning bidder has been selected, and the contract documents are currently in the process of being signed.
WHA will soon conduct the pre-construction meeting and perform the construction stake-out. WHA is available to respond to any Contractor questions during the process, and will review and approve Contractor pay requests. WHA will also conduct periodic site visits to observe the construction.
