As a United
States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)
Technical Service Provider (TSP), Willett, Hofmann and Associates, Inc. is
recognized as being expertly qualified to perform your agricultural engineering
needs.
Past work has
included engineering design work for a methane gas digester and manure reception
pit at both Scheidairy Farms and Hunter Haven Farms in Stephenson County,
working together with anaerobic digester manufacturer GHD, Inc. The two farms
were early examples in Northwest Illinois of converting methane gas into
electricity, and are often highlighted on tours and seminars promoting green,
reusable and renewable energy.
WHA has
designed a number of non-lagoon livestock waste handling facilities, both in
Illinois and Wisconsin. WHA’s experience includes not only designing the waste
facility itself, but also working with the Department of Agriculture,
Environmental Protection Agency, and NRCS to insure that all proper permits are
applied for and received.
Willett,
Hofmann & Associates works on an on-going basis with Primera Foods, an egg
breaking facility in Stockton, Illinois, to monitor their Illinois EPA permits.
WHA performs the required soil and waste matter tests to determine pH and
mineral levels, reporting the findings to the IEPA in accordance with the
requirements of the client’s permit. WHA has repeatedly performed the renewal
permits on Primera’s egg shell and liquid waste land application permits, with
each permit requiring renewal every five years.
WHA is also
qualified to design Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans (CNMP), and has
preformed CNMPs for cattle (both beef and dairy), swine, horses and sheep. WHA can
also assist farmers in finding EQIP funds in order to put a new CNMP into
action.
WHA is proud
to assist the farmers that feed us all!
