Bridge Inspections
|
In the State of
Illinois the responsibility of performing the biennial bridge condition
inspections has been delegated to the local agencies, and with the
increased qualification the Federal Highway Administration has required,
it has become more and more difficult for local agencies to have the
qualified staff and the time to perform the inspections.
We at Willett, Hofmann
& Associates, Inc. are well qualified to perform your bridge
inspections. We have three employees who have completed IDOT’s
qualifications to become state qualified to ensure that bridges are
inspected as described in the National Bridge Inspection Standards of
the Code of Federal Regulations, one as an IDOT qualified
Program Manager and two as state qualified Team Leaders. In addition, we have
a long history of award winning bridge design. The structural
engineers who design bridges are the very same people who oversee the
inspection of bridges, so you can be assured that your bridges are being
inspected by experts who truly understand the structure of bridges from
their very core. We feel that these
qualified and experienced employees make WHA an outstanding choice for
your bridge inspections.
Our approach to the
inspection is not to simply complete the state required field
inspection and forms, but also to complete additional reports so that
you are confident in your knowledge of the condition of your bridges.
We do this by preparing a series of reports that allow us to inform you
in a short time of the conditions we spend hours or even days studying and
evaluating. We prepare a report to highlight bridges where we have
lowered the rating on a key component. We then prepare an additional
report that summarizes the bridges that have concerns along with our
recommended maintenance or replacement action. These reports can
be formatted to your specifications, if need be. |
