Willett, Hofmann & Associates, Inc. has
offered land surveying services since the firm was established in 1935.
In addition to over 70 years of their own survey records, WHA also
maintains an archive of some of the area’s best known and most highly
respected surveyors of the past. These records are used to retrace
property lines that may be 150 years old or more.
The survey crews of Willett, Hofmann &
Associates, Inc. are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment utilizing
Global Positioning System (GPS), total stations and data collectors.
The data collected is then downloaded into computer drafting stations.
Depending on clients’ requirements, the necessary plats or maps are then
generated.
Recent work has included boundary
surveys of farm land, property line investigations, highway right-of-way
and easement surveys, residential lots, commercial and industrial
properties, route surveys, topographical surveys, subdivision layout,
wind farm surveys, and ALTA / ACSM surveys.
One particular specialty of Willett,
Hofmann & Associates, Inc. is subdivision layout, both commercial and
residential. Subdivision layout is a specialized field where the
resources and talents of the Engineering and Surveying Departments are
combined. The building lots are laid out for efficient use of the land
but with care taken to have the lots laid out attractively for the
purchaser. The careful planning of utilities and provisions for
drainage of surface waters is also addressed. Willett, Hofmann &
Associates, Inc. has recently developed subdivisions in Lena, Rockford
