With five licensed Structural Engineers on staff, and the support of an experienced technical staff, Willett, Hofmann & Associates, Inc. (WHA) Structural Engineering Department can provide structural engineering services for projects of any size and complexity. WHA provides structural engineering services for new construction, rehabilitation and restoration of highway and railroad bridges; new construction, renovation and additions for building structural systems; existing structure evaluation reports and load rating analyses for both bridges and buildings; and construction engineering for projects of various sizes and complexities.
WHA’s bridge structure engineering capabilities and experience encompass all phases of bridge design – preliminary studies, hydraulic studies, and plans and specifications for a variety of bridge types. Our structural engineering staff excels in the design of cofferdams, formwork, erection plans and demolition plans. Our building structure engineering capabilities include foundation systems, wall systems, floor systems, roof systems and equipment support structures for a variety of building types and complexities.
Our long association with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and other agencies expedites the review and approval process required for highway bridge projects under their jurisdiction. Our staff includes certified Bridge Program Managers and Team Leaders who have been judged by IDOT to be qualified to ensure that bridges are inspected as described in the National Bridge Inspection Standards of the Code of Federal Regulations.
Continuing education keeps us current with developing technologies and design codes to better serve our clients. Our Structural Staff is equipped with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and is experienced in the design of a variety of structural materials and types of building structural systems.
