Civil Engineering Technician
Our Dixon, Illinois office is currently seeking a civil engineering technician with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Municipal Engineering, Site Civil Engineering, Transportation, and Construction. This position emphasizes design and plan set preparation of a wide variety of water resources, water/wastewater, civil, and transportation projects.  Work activities may include grading, earthwork, preparing digital terrain models (DTMs and TINs), pipe networks, alignments, profiles, sections, cost estimating, and redline drafting as part of completing conceptual, preliminary, and final designs.  The position provides the opportunity to assist in Facilities Assessments and Facilities Long Range Planning, and assist in field examinations of project sites during pre-design conditions and construction phases.  There will be opportunities to assist in design and drafting for municipal, transportation and private clients and to expand field relative skills into the areas of inspection, drafting and coordination of bridge design/construction projects. This full-time position requires a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology or comparable experience.  The candidate must have the ability and desire to communicate effectively with clients and agencies in meetings as well as all other methods of communication, handle multiple projects simultaneously, be willing and able to work outside as a construction inspector, and add value to a fast-paced, growing company. A competitive wage and benefit package is offered. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Civil Engineering Intern I

Our Dixon, Illinois office is currently seeking a Civil Engineering Intern I with a minimum requirement of a Masters degree in Civil Engineering, with coursework in Structural Engineering, and Permanent U.S. work authorization. Working under direct supervision of a Staff, Project or a Senior Engineer, perform assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks.  Duties: assist in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects; assist in the development of probable construction cost estimates for his/her projects within the department; assist in the analysis of reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project; prepare design computations and quantity estimates; assist in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, permits and designs for project; instruct draftspersons / technicians to reduce designs to working drawings; review construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents; and serve as onsite project representative.

Entry Level Transportation Engineer
Our Dixon, IL office is seeking an entry level engineer to work in the Transportation Department under the supervision of an Illinois Licensed Professional Engineer.  Duties will include planning, designing and project management for roads, streets and highways; parking lots; intersection design studies; traffic capacity analyses; traffic signals; roadway and pavement maintenance; street lighting; site development; recreation paths; and storm water management, including drainage studies and detention basins.   The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a Transportation emphasis (will also accept candidates with a Master’s degree).  Licensed Professional Engineers (P.E.), graduates who are working towards their professional license (E.I. and E.I.T.), and students who will be achieving their Bachelor of Science degree in the near future are all encouraged to apply.   Candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and to add value to a fast paced, growing company.  Competitive wage, benefit package and relocation allowance offered.  Salary commensurate with experience.
Structural Engineer
We are seeking an engineer with 2+ years of experience to work in either our Dixon, IL or Moline, IL office.  This full-time position requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis.  Those with a Master’s degree, Licensed Professional Engineers (P.E.), Licensed Structural Engineers (S.E.) and graduates who are working towards their Professional Licenses are also encouraged to apply. Some experience in Transportation (Bridge Design) and Construction is required. Must have experience in the following:  proven experience in being able to complete a bridge project from concept to finished drawings; preparation of roadway improvement plans; preparation of site civil improvement plans; preparation of permit applications for Federal and State Agencies (IEPA, IDNR, IHPA, IDOT, etc.); preparation of working drawings from conceptual layout to detailed finished product; examination of project sites (public roads, undeveloped land, existing industrial sites, and municipal facilities) and providing value added solutions to design and construction challenges; and having familiarity and working knowledge of MicroStation/Geopak and other softwares of our trade. Familiarity with bridge hydrology and hydraulics is a plus.   Candidate must have the ability and desire to effectively communicate with clients and agencies in meetings as well as all other methods of communication. The candidate will be responsible for managing simultaneous tasks and duties. The candidate will be creative and proactive in all project tasks. Competitive wage and benefit package offered. Salary commensurate with experience.
Transportation Engineer

Our Dixon, Illinois office is seeking an engineer with 2+ years of experience.  This full-time position requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a Transportation emphasis.  Those with a Master’s degree, Licensed Professional Engineers (P.E.) and graduates who are working towards their professional license (E.I. and E.I.T.) are also encouraged to apply.  Experience in Transportation and Municipal Design and Construction is desired.
