Survey Technician
Job Summary
Willett, Hofmann & Associates, Inc., is seeking a full-time Survey Technician to work in our Dixon, IL office. This candidate will perform simple routine tasks under close supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor and will work on various types of surveys in the office and may also assist in the field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare Survey Plats, right of way plats, easement plats, topographic surveys, exhibits
- Interpret and address title commitment items per ALTA/NSPS standards
- Write Legal Descriptions
- Download and process Field Data in Microstation
- Interpret and plot deeds of record for property surveys
- Perform Computations
- Courthouse research
- Assist in field procedures for various surveys
- Work well in a team environment
- Work with Land Surveyors and field crews to complete projects
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Either have obtained or will be obtaining an associate degree in Survey Technology or comparable
- Experience with AutoCAD or Microstation
- Work overtime as needed
- Willingness to travel, staying overnight (minimal)
- Valid Driver’s License and maintain license in good standing, ability to be insured by WHA carrier.
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to coordinate and direct field crews and technicians

Job Summary
We are seeking a licensed Architect with 8+ years of experience to assist in the growth of our Architectural Department. This full-time position will be based in our Cedar Rapids, Iowa office and requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Architecture Degree with a Professional Architectural License(s). This position will be responsible for the development of design solutions for a variety of project types, communication with clients, consultants, agencies, and staff, as well as the technical and production aspects of projects from project inception through project completion. Our Moline, IL office is seeking a licensed civil engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience to oversee our Moline Transportation Department. This successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and will be performing assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. Land Surveyor
Job Summary WHA is currently seeking a Professional Land Surveyor or Land Surveyor-In-Training to work in one of our Illinois locations. Location and working arrangements would be based on experience and licensure. This successful candidate must either have or be close to achieving a Bachelor of Science degree in Land Surveying or comparable degree from an accredited University. This candidate will work on a wide variety of land surveying projects along with transportation, structural, water/wastewater and architecture projects. The candidate will be responsible for performing calculations, preparing plats and legal descriptions in addition to field tasks that include construction staking and data collection. Competitive wage and benefit package offered. Salary commensurate with experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research of public and private records and review title commitments to prepare properties to be surveyed
- Analyze and perform calculations for ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, boundary surveys, right of ways and easements
- Prepare plats of survey, right-of-way plats, easement plats, exhibits and write legal descriptions
- Download and cleanup of field data for topographic surveys and creation of DTMs
- Develop construction staking information for layout of curb, sewers, watermains, buildings, bridges, culverts
- Field work will be required from time to time for topographic & boundary surveys
- Client coordination

- Passed or eligible to take the fundamentals exam
- Familiarity with survey equipment, robotic total stations, and GPS

Bookkeeper / Accounting
Job Summary
Willett, Hofmann & Associates, Inc., is seeking a full-time Bookkeeper to work in our Dixon, IL office. This candidate will also keep records of financial transactions for establishment. Verify, allocate, and post details of business transactions. Maintain a close and highly responsive relationship with the bookkeeping supervisor, president, managers, and staff. This candidate will work closely and receive direction and guidance from the Bookkeeping Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Payroll – Processes weekly Payroll, PR Taxes, 401(k) information, Flex Fund, Annual Tax Reports, W-2’s, PR rate change process and update tax information and software update. Monthly tax reports for state unemployment, HRA & HSA.
- Accounts Payable – Review vendor invoices, organize and enter vendor invoices, process vendor invoices, track Sub-Consultant invoices, file paid invoices, process 1099 Tax Form, and set up new vendors.
- Accounts Receivable – Process billings/invoicing, client payments, prepare daily deposits, update, and distribute project information to managers. Update projects in the computer such as moving time, closing projects and setting up for billing, and Handle collection letters.
- General Ledger – Post monthly from all modules to GL, check balances, post misc. monthly entries.
- Month End & Year End Processing– Balance books at month, quarter, and year end. Gather new deduction information and enter into the computer each year. Prepare monthly information for President. Prepare information for accountants/audits. Work up IDOT overhead factor. Take care of SAM account. Move files for each year end.
- Accounting Software – Be able to set up Dashboards and workflows with given software. Be able to work with Excel spread sheets.
- Miscellaneous Duties – Waivers of Lien, annual employee benefits information and confirmation requests such as verification of employment forms. Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma minimum. Two or four-year degree preferred. Accounting background/degree beneficial.
- 2-5 years’ experience with AP/AR and payroll processes.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and able to prioritize.
- Good data entry skills.
- Familiarity with the general principles of accounting.
- A strong understanding of math and numbers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Publisher).
